Marica, Brave Woman

When Marica was 12, her mother abandoned the whole family. She found herself responsible for four of her siblings, then five, then six, with no source of income. They participated in our nutrition program twice a week.  God saw their needs, and thanks to ERDO, they were able to receive food aid every day. Marica means “the one who raises.”

Marica has grown up and joined our singing group during the pandemic.

Marica was Michel’s assistant for 10 years. She is now responsible, along with Louise, for the sponsorship program, which has nearly 600 sponsored children but 720 at school.

-The airport has been closed since November 2024, yet in our area, churches, schools, and businesses are operating normally.

-In Haiti, nearly 1.3 million people have been displaced due to gang violence. Since October 2025, more than 1,600 schools have been closed.  In 2025, more than half of the population lives in acute food insecurity.

Thank you so much for your prayers and generosity. Your contribution to God’s kingdom is greatly valued, and God rejoices in what you are accomplishing.

  1. S. The price of serving the Lord is high. Mary Slessor, a missionary in South Africa from 1876, reports the following. In 30 years of existence, the Calabar mission saw 20 missionaries die and be buried there. During that same time, 20 other missionaries returned to Scotland because of illness and, in many cases, broken spirits. All this for a church of 1,000 people, fewer than 200 of whom were baptized.
